Hi there, I’m Bill—founder, soap maker, and proud owner of Brick Box Natural Soap Company.

My journey started right where many great ideas are born—in the kitchen. What began as curiosity about the art of handcrafted cold process soap quickly turned into a full-blown passion. After plenty of trial and error (and a few messy countertops), I finally landed on a formula I was proud of.

The real test came when my wife tried one of those early bars. She immediately noticed how much better her skin felt—smooth, refreshed, and nourished. Even better, she felt good knowing she wasn’t using the chemical-heavy soap we used to buy off the grocery store shelf. That old bar didn’t last long—she tossed it in the trash, and that little moment sparked something bigger.

Not long after, I took a shot at making Pine Tar soap. I had heard it was great for the skin, but I’d never actually used it before. So, I got to work experimenting again. When I finally dialed in a formula I was proud of, my wife encouraged me to share it with some friends. Their response? Nothing but positive feedback. It didn’t take long before I realized this was more than just a hobby—it was something worth building.

Today, Brick Box is still a small, family-run operation. Every batch is handcrafted in our kitchen with help from my wife and son—just like we started. It’s a family effort from start to finish.

One thing that will never change is our commitment to keeping it clean—no phthalates, no parabens, no formaldehyde, no phosphates, and none of that other nasty junk you’ll find in mass-produced soap. Just quality, skin-loving ingredients that work with your body, not against it.

We’re also proud to give back. A portion of every sale goes toward supporting conservation efforts right here in Indiana—because we believe good business should leave the world a little better than it found it.
